As with many smaller scale tennis court contractors, I started working for a larger company, in 1977.  Large companies can either go bankrupt, stop trading or create an uncomfortable environment for those of us with average or above average intelligence who wish to progress with modern production methods and equipment.  My father also started with the same company in 1952, so there is some pedigree here.  When they changed ownership in the early 1990's, that's when I decided to work for myself.  However contact with the new company continues and I would occasionally work with them on a sub-contract basis.  I often work with another larger company in this area and the channel islands on a sub-contract basis.
